Hmmm.... Well, I'm still doing pretty awful at CNET, several weeks after
the design change. They kept promising things would go back to the way
they were before, but they haven't. I had hoped that the four new tunes
would rejuvinate the listeners, but they've gotten too used to my
orchestral stuff there and apparently aren't impressed with my synth
stuff. That's a shame. I used to have a big following of synth/ambient
fans. Maybe it's still that they just can't find me. That site is so
messed up now... It used to be so easy to get around. I thought it was
just the music site that's suffering, but the software site is too. I
had trouble late last night when trying to find some software. The
software section is done just like the music section. And if you'll
pardon the vulgar expression, they both suck. Anyway, though, it's
obviously not just me who's suffering. I'm on the same spot on the
overall charts that I've been for months now:
You may have to scroll to the side there to read these...
SOMEONE
is listening, just not as many someones as I would have liked.
In
other news, I've had 87 hits to my CD Baby page but no buys yet. I had
been told I'd make more from digital distribution that CD sales, but it
does take four weeks for all the music to start appearing on the big
sites like iTunes and Rhapsody and all. That's a long wait... Meanwhile
I'm trying to get money together to get "Abandoned Hospital" up there.
It's finished now, and the artwork is all done and it's all at
Discmakers, just waiting for me to get everything going. I have to wait
until I have $100 to spend first though. That's what it's gonna cost to
get five CDs made with jewel cases, a printed CD, a four page insert and
shrink wrapping, plus the $35 fee to install the CD at CD Baby, and
finally the $20 barcode which is the key to retail sales outlets. I'll
get it somehow. I just hope everyone enjoys the album. I made a CD of it
for my husband and he loves it. He says it's the best thing I've ever
done. He compares it to Brian Eno's "Music for Airports". I just hope
everyone else feels the same way after they hear it.
At the
moment I'm working on updating the website and some other projects so
I'm briefly putting music on hold. I just made fifteen songs (plus five
rejects) so I need a short break from making music for a little while. I
already have a few projects in mind though... I did some recordings
recently which could make good "nature" CDs, along the lines of David
and Steve Gordon or Sounds
of Nature. Of course, the music I would make to go along with the
sounds would be more synth or piano in origin. It's just a thought
anyway... I thought it might be fun though. For a change of pace....
Well,
anyway, I suppose that's it for now....
Thanks for downloading
and listening!
