New tune... "Cookie's Dreaming" and an update on the video

Well, I'm up to 1312 frames rendered on the "Gravity" video. I'd be farther along now, but I used a lot of glass in this particular section and it's taking hours and hours to render. I turned on the computer today at 5am and started rendering immediately and I've only gotten 11 done so far today and it's 10am. Basically they're taking about 30 minutes each to render. Longer if there's lots of reflections. The last batch of 50 took three days to complete. And I've still got a long ways to go... I hope it's all worth this trouble when it's done.

Meanwhile, I made a new song. I had to mix it using Acid, though I don't really use that often anymore. I had to this time because of the rendering. POVRAY is using quite a bit of system resources right now to render all these images and I just can't use most of my music software without freaking out my drained and tired Compaq. Luckily there doesn't seem to be any effect on the VST synths I use, so I got to play with synth sounds and my midi keyboard for quite a while before putting the results all together in Acid. So, here is the final piece, named for our cat, Cookie who was sleeping on me at the time I came up with the title.

"Cookie's Dreaming"

I hope everyone likes it. Again, it's a heavy synth piece, this time utilizing some synthy rhythm sounds... I wanted it to be fairly lighthearted but with a sinister twist in the middle... I guess I got it... I'm not sure. Cliff likes the piece. I suppose we'll see how it does. I'll upload it to CNET later.
