Honestly, I haven't been doing any new music lately. I'm actually commissioned to build a series of websites at the moment so it'll be a little while before I get back to making tunes. In the meantime though, so you guys don't give up on me entirely, I just put up "The Basement" at CNET and MP3.com. "The Basement" is track nine from "Abandoned Hospital". I released it as a free download to try and get some interest in the album. I feel "Abandoned Hospital" my best whole piece overall. It's exactly the style and sound I was pursuing when I started Orphic Endeavors in 2000. I can't really think of anything to compare it to. It's inspired by Robyn Miller's "Riven" soundtrack, but it leans a bit more toward noise and dark ambient or ambient industrial than that. I'm trying to find a band to compare it to... I'll do a little exploration to find out. Anyway, if you like creepy noises with voices and whispers and faint music you will love "Abandoned Hospital".
Thanks for downloading and listening,
-Bonnie
PS! Cliff says "Abandoned Hospital" is his favorite of all the music I've done so far and he says if you want to compare it to a famous musician, he suggests Brian Eno's "Music for Airports" as being close.... I'm not so sure. "Music for Airports" doesn't seem dark to me and there's an edge to this music... A sharp razor edge. I'll do a little research on the subject later tonight.
