Just a fast update to the site. That blackbird posed for me when I was
out taking pictures with Cliff
the other day so I used him on the site.
The news right now is the low
ratings at CNET darn it... Low
download numbers too. (Just six downloads week before last.) Tried
to change the page there but it's been a week since I submitted some
stuff to be uploaded there and requested to remove some things and they still
haven't made the changes yet. I also requested a "similar artists"
change that hasn't been fixed yet. (Changing to Brian
Eno and Robert
Rich - Cliff suggested it.) I've written four emails to CNET staff
but I have yet to get any response. Is anyone at the helm there anymore?
Cliff suggested I get a My
Space page for Orphic Endeavors. Many folks suggested that very same
thing to me at the demise of the CNET
artist forums. I refused as I had some issues with folks stealing my
bandwidth there the year before. Now I've given up on that. They manage
to steal stuff regardless of what I do. At least I know someone is
listening... "The
Muse" and "Lullaby"
have both been downloaded 106 times each since May 1st. In fact, looking
over my stats for last month, "The Muse" was downloaded 248 times, "The
Big Bad Wolf" was downloaded 120 times, and "Astral
Rain - Comets Across the Sky" was downloaded 128 times. And
going further into the list for last month, "Madness"
was downloaded 108 times, "Lullaby" 107 times, and "Cookie's
Dreaming" 98 times. I'm starting to see a pattern here... The
number of mp3s downloaded last month from this website was 1732. This
month so far there's been 1157. Wow. That means more folks are coming
here and getting the music now than there are at any of my music
distribution pages! Wow!!! Hey, thank you guys very much! That makes me
feel better. I had been considering giving up on music. Now I am really
inspired to try hard to finish what I'm working on now. (I'll post a
piece of a track I'm working on at the moment at the end of this entry
as proof that yes, I really am working on music.)
Anyway, as I was saying, I am finally considering biting the bullet and
going against my word and getting that My Space page as that seems to
the "the place to be" for musicians currently. I just really don't want
to. What I'd like to do is build some sort of code that folks can
use to put an Orphic Endeavors "radio" or playlist on their page at My
Space to advertise "Abandoned Hospital" and "ICON", but in the end, I'll
probably just give up and put a page on there myself.
I did submit both albums to Hearts
Of Space. In fact, I emailed them and got some brief words of advice
which I followed and now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. If anyone
feels so inclined you might help me out by dropping by their website and
requesting Orphic Endeavors. That would be most cool... They told
me they will email me if they decide to air any of it as to when and all
so I can listen for it. Wish me luck! This could be a really important
thing for Orphic Endeavors if they air anything. I sure hope they do.
Okay, as I promised, here is one track I'm currently working on. It's in
no way finished, but at least it's proof I'm working. I've also got
about four other tunes that aren't this far along including the remake
of "An Afternoon By Myself". Anyway, right now the tune is titled by the
date because that's to help me keep track of things. March242007.mp3
I hope you like it so far! Keep in mind, it's just a start...
Well, that's it for now. Max
is wanting Mama's attention, so I gotta get going.
Thanks so much for downloading and listening!
